Ta-da!

Tyra would say I'm not "smizing"

My angora bamboo shoulder shrug is complete! Well, not my shoulder shrug. This project is a gift, though like most gifts I knit, the urge to keep it all to myself is almost irresistible.

If you don’t have a knitting blog, you may not be aware of the phenomenon that occurs when you have completed a project: those that would normally be around to assist in photographing said finished project, suddenly, without warning, disappear! Photo assistant nowhere to be found, I have been left with the lonely self-timer. I really had high hopes of giving you some awesomely styled, impressively lit, finished-knit photos, but alas, time is of the essence. Besides, it’s all about the knitting right?

If you recall a previous post, I made this shrug slightly smaller than the pattern size. I do not recommend this unless you are the type of person who enjoyed ‘extra credit’ projects in school. Messing with the size required me to mess with math, which is not something I particularly enjoy (I spent a lot of time doodling in the margins of my math books). There is far too much math involved in knitting, and while I’m perfectly capable of crunching a few numbers, why should I when a perfectly capable designer has already done the work for me. What was I thinking?

Thankfully, it worked out just fine. Phew!
You wanna see all the ugly details, right? Here’s the back seam I tried my best to match up…

Now I have to call my friend to tell her her shrug is ready. Mmm, maybe I’ll take it for a test drive first…
